  1. Speaking of Councillor courage in the face of un-elected autocratic adversity, there are two other recent examples of mettle & worth a mention.
    1. Strategic Planning Committee 15th Feb 2018, morning. Approval of Penvose Student village against the express recommendation by the planning case officer for rejection and the protestations of the non-elected executive – rebellion led by Cllr. Alan Jewell (Con).
    2. Strategic Planning Committee 15th Feb 2018, afternoon. Rejection of the Nancegollen intensive chicken farm against the express recommendation by the planning case officer for approval with the support of the non-elected executive.- rebellion led by Cllr. Andrew Long (MK).

    There appears to be a revolution in the making!

I have said all along councillors are elected to make the decisions and set the policy for councils of all sizes and political persuasions,not the officers, they are paid to give advice not lead the council. It should never have been called Kennealy care it was always Paynter care and it looks like someone has finally given him a reality check.
