There has been a steady increase in crimes stemming from the use of internet dating in Devon and Cornwall, according to official police figures. The incidence has nearly doubled in three years.
An answer to a request under the Freedom of Information Act published by Devon and Cornwall police discloses that between January 2013 to November 2015 there were 75 offences recorded which included words such as "internet date", "online dating" and "dating website."
