It could be weeks before police learn what caused the deaths of two men in a flat at St Austell last week.

The bodies of a 31-year-old man, and a 21-year-old, were found in a flat on Tregonissey Road on Wednesday.

Post mortem examinations yesterday (Friday) were inconclusive.   “Police will now progress with in-depth toxicology which usually takes between two and four weeks for the results to be confirmed,” said a police statement.  “At this time, the deaths of both men remain unexplained, but Devon and Cornwall police are not looking for any third party in relation to this incident.”

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary and was later released on police bail until

Thursday (5th January) pending further enquiries.  He is not being investigated in relation to the deaths of either men.
