Devon & Cornwall Police consider arming more officers with Tasers, despite concern about use of the weapons against children

Devon and Cornwall police could be about to double the number of officers who carry Tasers - despite concern about the way the high-voltage stun guns are used, including on multiple occasions against children.

A report outlining the case for increasing the number of Taser-trained officers from 530 to around 1,000 is about to be submitted to the force’s Executive Board, prior to further consideration by chief constable Shaun Sawyer.
