Devon and Cornwall police could be about to double the number of officers who carry Tasers - despite concern about the way the high-voltage stun guns are used, including on multiple occasions against children.
A report outlining the case for increasing the number of Taser-trained officers from 530 to around 1,000 is about to be submitted to the force’s Executive Board, prior to further consideration by chief constable Shaun Sawyer.
