There has been quite an exodus from Cornwall Council in recent months, leaving a potential salaries’ saving on senior bosses of £1.16 million per year.
Some of the more impenetrable job titles are possibly related to Human Resources. Because of the council’s enthusiastic pursuit of “working from home” many of the following posts do not actually require you to turn up for work.
Current opportunities advertised by County Hall include:
Assistant chief fire officer (£116,000)
Service Director Resources & Performance (£123,000)
Service Director Economy, Regeneration and Assets (£123,000)
Chief Digital Officer (£123,000)
Head of Legal Services (£87,644)
Head of Audit (Chief Internal Auditor) £87,644)
Head of Change and Portfolio Management (£87,644)
Strategic Director Community Wellbeing (£166,000)
Service Director Regulatory Services and Waste (£123,000)
Director of Public Health (£123,000)
“In Cornwall, we proudly put our communities front and centre of everything that we do both for today and for tomorrow.
“Our work is guided by four outcome delivery plans underpinned by a focus on Our People, Our Planet and Our Pounds."

(er, that's only three 'outcome delivery plans' - Ed)
"The successful candidates will have the foresight, drive, energy and expertise to build on the great work we have done to date.
“I am so proud of this organisation, and I am seeking exceptional candidates to share my passion for Cornwall.”

Their work is guided by ‘four outcome delivery plans’. They are not telling us what they are. The ‘focus on Our People, Our Planet and Our Pounds’ is mere ‘underpinning. Do try to keep up 🙂
