Staff at Cornwall Live and its associated local newspapers – the Cornishman, West Briton, Cornish Guardian and Western Morning News – hope to find out this afternoon (Wednesday) more details of yet another round of job cuts.
Publisher Reach PLC is set to announce another 450 redundancies across the country. This will be on top of several previous rounds of job losses, which recently saw the departure of Cornwall Live’s founding editor.
Earlier this year Reach admitted that some Cornwall Live articles are now written by robots.
Reach chief executive Jim Mullen will tell staff this afternoon that the latest sackings “will not change is our commitment to quality journalism.”
