It would be more helpful to his constituents if he highlighted the lack of testing facilities in Cornwall, and identified that test results are now taking up to 5 days rather than overnight as previously.
It may be Mr Double’s credibility in respect of the wellbeing of his electorate which might curtail his ambitions for political advancement.
It is regrettable that Mr Double is unable to honestly respond to the press’s enquiries. He has made a classical error (to put it politely) and a simple honest response to this would have been far more preferable than the verbose response that he gave in attempting to the pass on his error to others. Unfortunately, Mr Double will, himself, lose credibility with the public over this.
