Police have confirmed that a 31 year old woman from the Penryn area was killed in last night’s accident on the A30 near Avers in the Redruth area.
The collision involved a red Hyundai Santa Fe car which collided with the rear of a green tractor that was towing a loaded trailer.
The woman was driving the Hyundai and died at the scene. A one year old child was also in the car but sustained only minor injuries, although was kept in Treliske Hospital overnight as a precaution.
The driver of the tractor from the Camborne area was uninjured. The road was closed for approximately eight hours.
