Woman, 31, killed in last night’s accident on A30 near Redruth

Police have confirmed that a 31 year old woman from the Penryn area was killed in last night’s accident on the A30 near Avers in the Redruth area.

The collision involved a red Hyundai Santa Fe car which collided with the rear of a green tractor that was towing a loaded trailer.

The woman was driving the Hyundai and died at the scene.  A one year old child was also in the car but sustained only minor injuries, although was kept in Treliske Hospital overnight as a precaution.

The driver of the tractor from the Camborne area was uninjured.   The road was closed for approximately eight hours.  Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this collision or has any information about this incident.  Contact police using 101@dc.police.uk or call 101 quoting log 549 of 11 January 2017.
