An instant “pop up” shop opens its doors in Penzance next week to encourage greater awareness of the radical changes proposed for Cornwall’s health and social care services.
West Cornwall HealthWatch is celebrating its 20th anniversary next month – and is taking the opportunity to examine the “‘Sustainability and Transformation Plan” which is aiming to cut £264million from the local health budget.
The instant shop will be open 10am - 4.30pm from Tuesday 28th February to Saturday 4th March at the top of Market Jew Street, near the Humphry Davy statue.
West Cornwall Healthwatch committee member Jan Williams, an NHS physiotherapist, is masterminding the Pop Up Shop and hopes that the shop will overflow with people. She said: “The time is right for us all to work together to ensure that Cornwall now receives a fairer funding package. With this in mind, West Cornwall HealthWatch will be using Penzance Pop-Up Shop as campaign headquarters next week. We would like to invite as many people as possible to visit us in the shop.”
