20th February 2017
Nearly 100 protestors gathered in Truro's Lemon Quay this evening (Monday) to demand that US President Donald Trump should not be invited to Britain on a State Visit because of what they said were his bigoted and misogynist views. They chanted anti-Trump slogans and heard speeches about why Mr Trump was not a fit or proper person to meet the Queen. The protest was one of several held around the UK this evening, timed to coincide with a debate in Parliament. The government insists that Mr Trump's invitation will not be withdrawn.
