  1. This is well beyond any joke. It is the actual Kernewek residents of our Duchy of Kernow who are going to suffer the after effects of this that we have been suffering for a few years now. The second home owner crooks will all clear off when the thick stuff eventually hits the fan. And we will be all left bankrupt by these crooks.

  2. The Chief Finance Officer holds responsibility as follows; in brief, quoting from CIPFA:
“The role and responsibilities of the ‘Treasurer’ were developed by case law in England and Wales. In Attorney General v De Winton 1906, it was established that the Treasurer is not merely a servant of the authority, but holds a fiduciary
    responsibility to the local taxpayers.
Section 151 of the Local Government Act 1972 requires local authorities to make arrangements for the proper administration of their financial affairs and appoint a CFO to have responsibility for those arrangements”
Cornwall Council has decided to borrow and spend well in excess of half a billion pounds within the next few years.
I state “spend” rather than using the word invest, as, to quote the adage “The value of your investments can go down as well as up. This means that you may get back less than you invest.”
