Three more Covid-19 patients have died at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, bringing the total so far to 28 – nearly double the average for the South West.
A total of 17 have died at Plymouth, 19 at Torbay and 15 at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital. The regional average, so far, is 15.
Cornwall’s mortality rate is again the second worst in the whole of the South West region. Only Gloucestershire has recorded more Covid-19 deaths, at 46.
The reasons for the wide variations between NHS trusts are not known.
