Police are investigating the “suspicious” death of a man whose body was found close to Truro Road, St Austell, in the early hours of this morning.
The man’s identity is not yet known. A post mortem examination is to be held to establish the cause of death.
Detectives have closed the road and there are reports that officers with dogs have been examining the scene. Police said: "Police attended Truro Road this morning [Wednesday 11 January] just after 5am and discovered the body of an unidentified man. A scene of crime tent with a police officer guarding it has been put up in the park.
"Enquiries are currently underway and a scene guard remains around the Truro Road and Bridge Road park. The death is being treated as suspicious and police await the outcome of the forensic post mortem."
