The Met Office has issued a “yellow” warning of rain and wind for Cornwall, which forecasters say could last several days.
The warning means there could be some flooding, particularly in coastal areas as southerly and south-easterly winds drive tides inshore.
The warning lists:
- Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings, most likely across southwest England and south Wales.
- Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible.
- Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
- Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads.
