  1. POINT OF ACCURACY: Falmouth has not been involved in ShipBUILDING for some four decades. Falmouth only does Ship REPAIR probably since 1977, when Falmouth Shiprepairers was formed. Also, much of their ship repairing takes place abroad – not that they are not getting very good at this – but SHIPS are not built anymore at Falmouth, it is more of a maintenance and paint shop. Fitting out the new ‘Tide’ class of Navy ships is part of their current achievements, but we all know that these have been built in South Korea & even four of the five UK Border Patrol’s cutters were built in Holland – sad times.
