I am aware that my comments are often negatively orientated so it gives me great pleasure to read this article and congratulate all those involved in obtaining landing slots at Heathrow which is more convenient than those at Gatwick that were at risk of curtailment. Let us hope that Flybe’s current travails do not dissipate this excellent “upgrade”.

  2. Heathrow is a grossly overrated airport, the cost of onward travel to city centre in time and money makes this undesirable for the traveller no matter what airport managers and airline owners may think. Flybe’s finances are unlikely to improve faced with higher service costs at Heathrow. Remember BRYMON anybody?
