According to the constitution of Cornwall Council: “The Leader chooses up to nine Councillors to form a Cabinet” – the constitution says nothing about political party elections for cabinet places, particularly when there is a coalition!

We have group elections every year for cabinet places, the Leader doesn’t choose. What he does choose is which portfolios are given to individuals based on skills and experience.
