And that’s not the only anomaly: gov’t guidance expects the majority of grants to be ‘up to’ £10,000 depending on ongoing property commitments, (paras 17 – 19) but the Council plan on giving everyone the full amount! There is no assessment of liabilities, and the fund will certainly run out (as they predict!) more quickly given that policy – then who will they blame? The outline was issued on 2 May, and when I rang last week – a week after the detailed publication – I was told the delay was to allow ‘careful consideration and assessment’. I noticed these points on first reading on Saturday, and it seems they have totally abrogated themselves of any decision-making. Is this an indication of the level of competence of CC business leaders?
