Kate Shields is to leave her role as boss of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly NHS Integrated Care Partnership, having become its first chief executive in 2021.
Health commissioning for Devon and Cornwall has now been “clustered” and will almost certainly be run from Exeter rather than Bodmin.
The government says its restructuring of NHS administration is designed to cut costs and ensure that funds reach frontline clinical staff.
Cornwall Council leader councillor Leigh Frost paid tribute to Ms Shields at a cabinet meeting this morning (Wednesday) when he confirmed her departure.
“We wish her well with whatever she does next,” said councillor Frost.
