As expected, tomorrow’s (Thursday’s) scheduled meeting of Cornwall Council’s Strategic Planning Committee has been cancelled due to insufficient business.
Since May, and the council’s annual meeting, the Strategic Planning Committee has met only twice – and one of those meetings was convened for the sole purpose of electing a paid chair and vice chair.
A growing number of councillors think the committee should be scrapped, and its work devolved to local area planning committees. The next scheduled meeting of the Strategic Planning Committee is not until 31st October.
