  1. The photograph sums up the ridiculousness of these “awards”. We pay for Councillors to attend such events and, to cap it all, we pay for the quangos that create them! No doubt, Cornwall Council staff will be hot on the heels to emulate these pace-setters extraordinaire. I note that one of them sports a Cornish tie but does not wear a poppy and the other wears a poppy but has no tie.
