Cuts of at least £140 million could mean hospital closures in Cornwall, according to an official NHS report. Health chiefs are warning the deficit could reach £277 million by 2020 if they do nothing.
The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Health Sustainability and Transformation Plan is the formal launch of a public consultation exercise which campaigners think could see people taking to the streets to defend their local hospitals.
